...And All Those Simple Things You Are

By Ryan J. Schwimmer
So another day at work down and it was a long one. I even left a couple hours early due to Tiffany getting off work early, but it still seemed like it was ridiculously long. There was a little bit of decent news that came about at work today. Supposedly for most or all of June (except for Mondays) I'll be off the phone and in training. So that's good I suppose. I was talking with Tiffany about it trying to figure out if this was God's way of giving me a break while I look for a new job, or if it was God's way of telling me to be patient and that this is a way of advancing my career with the company I'm with, hopefully en route to getting a job there that just doesn't involve being on the phone. See, I don't have much of a problem staying with the company, I just don't want to be on the stupid phones all the time. It's killing me. But you all know that, I'm not going to sit here and beat a dead llama, as they say.

I downloaded the new Gemma Hayes album (now available on iTunes worldwide) and am listening to it now. I've heard one song on it before, and it was a really good song. Before I met Tiffany I swore that I was going to move to Ireland and marry her. Haha. But seriously, she's gorgeous, has an even prettier voice, and she's a freaking singer/songwriter who can play guitar and piano and all that good stuff. I feel like I'm channeling the guys from High Fidelity right now. "She could put a little joke of ours in the liner notes... maybe even just a picture of me in the liner notes." Yeah.

One more work day. Just one more stupid, long, boring, excruciatingly painful work day before the weekend. It'll be a weekend filled with Jeff-uh-ffah DunHAM and my dad's birthday party on Sunday. I'm really hoping it's not a humongous family thing. Honestly I hope it's just me, Tiffany, Alex, Dad, and Suzie. I unfortunately think that it's going to end up being a stupid housewarming [slash] birthday party. The guest list will most likely be as follows: Dad, Suzie (who in case you haven't figured it out is the new stepmom), Alex, me, Tiffany, my grandma, Evelyn, and all of Suzie's 18 kids and grandkids. Oh wells. I suggested to Tiffany that we bring Rock Band to hook up in Alex's room so if we get sick of everyone else we can go up there and escape from the rest of the party. She wasn't too keen on it. So maybe I'll just bring a game or two over that doesn't include Rock Band and I'll still have something to escape to.

Definitely looking to Jeff Dunham on Saturday though. I think that's going to be a blast. Josh, Sheila, Tiffany and I are going, and here's hoping we don't get picked on. We don't have Nathan with us, so that should definitely increase our chances of remaining anonymous. I talked to Nathan the other day and he talked about how much he wanted to go, and I didn't think about it at the time, but God, he'd just be fish bait out there. I can't imagine the fun Jeff could have with him. Especially after some of the lesser known, less creative comics have found out ways to effectively embarrass the heck out of Nathan at the Loony Bin.

So this Gemma Hayes album is pretty good so far. I'll have to listen to the rest of it later. I'll be ending my post here. Obviously, Blake won the prize for the last blog entry about where the title of the post came from. It was indeed a quote from Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII fame. Awesome stuff right there. Anyways, let me know what you think of the new layout or anything else by COMMENTING! See you all soon.

Sounds like a super exciting weekend. JEFFFFF Dun-HAAMMMM and some family stuff. Jeff probably won't pick on you unless you are front and center and make an ass out of yourself. He hasn't picked on anyone in the 3 shows i've been to. Anyway the format looks good. Doesn't show up on my IE here but my firefox it looks just fine.

2 things: a) As far as music goes, the 'She & Him' album is pretty nice, not perfect, but I like it better that way; Now I'll listen to your Irish chick, when I get around to it

    2) Have you ever considered purchasing a portable gaming device like...oh, I don't know...a Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Playstation Portable, Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx, any cell phone made after 1999, et cetera? They allow you the convenience of escaping, all within your pocket. There's no need to carry a huge disc around in an even bigger case, let alone two! :) That's right, I just smiled at you.

*Bonus Comment* Keep your head up kid, as far as work goes. Things will get better, at least I think so.

Something to say?
