And I Laugh at Myself as the Tears Roll Down
So this likely won't be a very long blog as I'm about go have to stop and get ready to go to Shogun. Today is Day Two of the vacation and it's really, really nice to not be at work. Yesterday I didn't get to sleep in too terribly much but today I did. And after I woke up I kept dozing off. I think Tiffany might have been getting a little frustrated with me because she often was trying to talk to me about what was going on on the TV but I kept falling back asleep and didn't know what was going on. I'm still a little tired.
I'm very excited to go to Shogun and see Indiana Jones tonight. Tiff and I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark last night. I loves me that movie. I keep hearing good things about the new one so hopefully it's as good as the hype surrounding it. I watched Transformers this morning, I really liked that movie too and it kinda got me pumped up for more good action.
Tiffany just told me that after she finished this cup series on Mario Kart she was going to get up and get ready, but she just started another one. Go figure. She used the excuse that I wasn't getting up and getting ready yet so why should she. THEN when I told her that it was because I don't have as much to do to get ready she got mad at me. Sigh. Marriage is a weird thing, my children. It's a known fact that (most) guys can get ready a whole lot faster than (most) girls. Oh well, whatever. She's also been hogging the Wii for like an hour and a half now, and the reasoning behind THAT one is because I was home and played games all day yesterday. Which is true, but I don't think I should necessarily be left out of playing a multiplayer game because I played a different game all day yesterday while I was home alone. Whatev.
Saying (typing, whatev) "whatev" reminds me of the California lingo my wife was recently introduced to when my sister came into town. She thought it was absolutely the most hilarious thing that my sister kept saying "...right?" at the end of every sentence. If any of you have seen Mean Girls you most likely know what I'm talking about (more commonly used as "I know, right?"). <--Post-Script Edit: The following sentence has drawn much ire from the wife, who wants to be completely clear that she's not making fun in a hateful way, but more just because she thinks it's funny.-->Anyways so Tiffany is determined to start saying this to make fun of my sister all the time in front of my family without them knowing, which is indeed funny.
So, back to Shogun... I've been looking forward to eating there for quite a while now. It's even better (worse?) now that I've (re)discovered my love for the shrimp there. In case you haven't been there, they give you three grilled shimp as like an appetizer, but I always end up with six because Tiffany doesn't like shellfish. However, today I'm going to see if they have anything where I can get a filet mignon and shrimp combo. See, they have a Filet & Lobster combo, but no Filet & Shrimp, so I'm going to be a pain in the darriere, as always, and make them earn their tip.
Speaking of which, people who don't tip well kill me. I know at least one of my regular readers is a waiter so I'm sure he'll appreciate this, but come on people. If your waiter (server, whatev) treats you nicely and is fairly attentive of your needs and wants, tip 'em at LEAST 20%. These people make way way wayyyyy less than minimum wage because most of their income comes from tips. It's even worse when you consider they're most likely waiting on older people or teenagers or other stereotypically bad tippers who have left them 10% at the most. My grandma is one of these people. You know it's bad when Tiffany and I always make sure to bring extra cash for a tip when we go with my grandma to dinner, or when we seriously consider telling the waiter that if he wants any decent tip, he really needs to add the gratuity himself. /rant
Good for David Cook winning American Idol. Yes, in case you weren't aware, I am an avid Idol watcher now. I hate myself for it. I honestly do. I've spent years talking about how shows like American Idol and all other reality TV shows were completely and utterly worthless and one of the major problems with American society and now I'm one of them. It sickens me to no end. But last year Tiffany got me to watch the auditions for Idol with her and then once I did that, my obsessive personality took over and I had to stick with it until the end. Anywho, I'm glad Cook won, he was definitely the right choice. Jenkins voted 300 times for him via text messaging Tuesday night. At least I'm not that bad...
I'm out now, talk to everyone later. Oh, by the way, COMMENT or you didn't read it. I don't even care if you have anything relevant to say.

Post-Script Edit: Funny how the first sentence said that this probably wouldn't be a long entry, and it ended up being my longest one since I started this up again.

American Idol was just alright for me this season. I don't think they have had any really good talent come through since Chris Daughtry or Elliot Yamin, and those boys didn't even win. I always say I won't watch next season, but somehow I get lured in.
Nintendo Wii kicks ass. My favorite game is Wario Smooth Moves. Do you have that one?
Have a good vacation!
if it makes you feel any better i watch big brother.
